Privacy policy

Privacy-by-design, built for children. The short version: we don't collect personal data, there are no accounts, and practice runs entirely on your device.

TablesTrophy is a child-directed service built to respect the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA). We do not collect personal data, we have no user accounts, and all practice and certificate printing happen in your browser. The only thing we may store is an optional "best score", kept locally on your own device.

In plain words

  • No accounts — there is nothing to sign up for or log into.
  • No personal data — we don't ask for names, emails, ages, or anything else.
  • Practice stays on your device — answers are never uploaded.
  • Optional local best score — stored in your browser only, never sent to us.
  • Contextual ads only — non-personalised, never based on tracking a child.

Built for children (COPPA)

This site is directed to children under 13 as well as the parents and teachers who help them. We have designed it so that no personal information is ever needed to use it. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children (or anyone), and there is no mechanism on the site through which a child could share personal information with us. If you believe a child has somehow provided us personal information, please contact us and we will address it.

What we do and don't collect

We do not collect, request, or store names, email addresses, ages, photos, location, or any other personal data. The quizzes and tools run client-side in your browser: the numbers your child types are checked on the device and are never transmitted to us or anyone else.

Some tools (such as the speed test) may save a "best score" using your browser's local storage. This is purely a convenience so a child can try to beat their own record. It stays on your device, is not linked to any identity, is not sent to us, and can be cleared at any time by clearing your browser data.

Advertising (contextual only)

If advertising is enabled on this site, it is contextual and non-personalised: any ads are chosen based on the content of the page, not on tracking, profiling, or any data about the visitor. Because this is a child-directed service, personalised (interest-based) advertising is disabled. This is the appropriate, COPPA-aware approach even though it means lower ad revenue than personalised ads would bring.

Affiliate links (for parents)

Some pages include a clearly labelled "For parents & teachers" section that may link to products such as workbooks, flashcards, or posters. These are intended for grown-ups, may be affiliate links (we could earn a small commission at no extra cost to you), and are marked accordingly. Following such a link takes you to a third-party retailer with its own privacy policy.

Third parties

We keep third-party code to a minimum. The site uses Google Fonts to load its typefaces. If contextual ads are enabled, an ad provider may be used in a non-personalised, child-directed mode. We do not use analytics that profile individuals or build advertising profiles of visitors.

Changes to this policy

If we update this policy, we'll revise the date below. Because the site collects no personal data, changes will generally only clarify how the privacy-by-design approach works.
